James Lindsay is the Chief Technology Officer at SynerSolutions. Before that, he had a 20-year career in the Canadian Armed Forces where he was Chief Architect and Engineer for End Point Security. He then became Chief Architect and Engineer for cyber risk management in DND. In that position he advised senior leadership of DND on the impacts and integration of AI technologies in its cyber defence portfolio. James holds an undergraduate degree in computer science and a master’s degree in electrical engineering. While at the Royal Military College of Canada, James received the Colonel Geoff Parker Award (Best Graduate Student) from the Canadian Minister of National Defence. He also won the IEEE (I triple e) Master’s Research Award for the Kingston area in 2011. On his own time, he is now pursuing a part-time doctorate in computer engineering focusing on deep reinforcement learning techniques applied to anonymous robotics and cyber security. He currently has 7 peer-reviewed academic publications covering several areas of machine learning and AI.
